Warranty Information

General Warranty: The Shady Lady Window Coverings complies with all manufacturers’ warranties, and will assist our clients with any claims. Normal signs of age (wear and tear over time) is not considered a defect. This warranty also does not cover damage arising from abuse, misuse, accidents, alterations, or failure to properly care for the product.
However, should any client need assistance in repairing a product that has been damaged by accident or otherwise, we will work with them to either repair or replace the item in a timely manner. Expenses for such repair or replacement will be assessed at the then-current fair market rate.

Labor warranty: Should any warranty repair arise during the first year, any necessary repairs will be completed free of charge. After one year, trip charges and labor fees may apply.

Measuring: Under normal circumstances, The Shady Lady Window Coverings sells only products for windows that have been personally measured by our staff. Therefore any products that do not fit as they should will be repaired or replaced at our expense. All inside mount products must necessarily be smaller than the opening in which they are installed. As such, they will have a "light gap" on the left and right sides that varies slightly by product type and brand. This is normal and not due to miscalculations in measuring.
If a contract is entered into wherein the client performs the measuring, The Shady Lady Window Coverings cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies in product fit and function.

Installation: Every installation will be performed at a time previously agreed upon by the client and The Shady Lady Window Coverings. With two exceptions, installers are our employees. Exception One: Our premier line of plantation shutters is manufactured in Houston, and installed by employees of the manufacturer. This ensures that the client will receive a full warranty. Exception Two: Certain drapery treatments require special technical expertise. In those situations, we contract with the installer employed by our workroom. Regardless of product, The Shady Lady Window Coverings sales representative you work with will be present as well.

Returns: All products offered by The Shady Lady Window Coverings are custom manufactured to the exact specifications of our client. As such, they are not suitable for resale. Orders cannot be altered or canceled after deposit is made. We will do everything possible through the use of samples, product information, and photographs to ensure that every client is completely happy with the products they select before the order is placed.
